It is always a good ideal to talk with your child and give them permission to share their ideas and opinions about the child care agency, the staff, and how this is affecting their lives. Not all children will like going to a child care placement, but with discussion they may come to understand why it needs to occur.
Make sure that the child care provider, service or agencies has all the most up to date phone numbers and contact information. This means cell phones, work numbers and home numbers for Mom and Dad plus emergency numbers. Dont rely on the child to pass this information along, contact the child care center yourself to make any changes.
Many child chare facilities are after school only placements that will provide fun and educational activities for kids between certain ages. If you are planning on placing your child in an after school program find out about their homework policy and if they will assist the child.
